When I began my learning journey, I found that it can be overwhelming due to the vast amount of information that is available and the terminology. There are books, online classes, sommelier programs, apps, online resources, visits to different wineries, among others. However, it does not that have to be that hard.
As a person who is learning everything and anything about wine, I will try to explain the basics of wine to you in a more direct and easier to understand way. On this journey, I will be summarizing information from multiple sources, such as books, online classes, and visits to wineries, so that you don’t have to!
In addition, I will be showcasing some wines occasionally, focusing mainly on the wineries located in the Sacramento region in Northern California. During the short time I have been living here, I have discovered that there are so many underrated wineries in this region that don't have the exposure they deserve.
My name is Maria Ramirez, and I am a wine enthusiast from Costa Rica, currently living in Sacramento, California. Moving to a place where wine is part of their culture, made me realize that wine is much more than just uncorking a bottle and having a glass. It is a whole experience that encompasses flavors, aromas, textures, and the story behind each bottle.

Cuando comencé mi viaje de aprendizaje, descubrí que puede ser abrumador debido a la gran cantidad de información disponible y la terminología. Como persona que está aprendiendo todo y cualquier cosa sobre el vino, trataré de explicarle los conceptos básicos del vino de una manera más directa y fácil de entender. En este viaje, resumiré información de múltiples fuentes, como libros, cursos en línea y visitas a bodegas, para que tú no tengas que hacerlo.
Además, exhibiré algunos vinos ocasionalmente, centrándome principalmente en las bodegas ubicadas en la región de Sacramento en el norte de California. Durante el poco tiempo que he estado viviendo aquí, descubrí que hay tantas bodegas subestimadas en esta región que no tienen la exposición que se merecen.
Mi nombre es María Ramírez, y soy una entusiasta del vino de Costa Rica, que actualmente vive en Sacramento, California. Al mudarme a un lugar donde el vino es parte de su cultura, me di cuenta de que el vino es mucho más que simplemente descorchar una botella y tomar una copa. Es toda una experiencia que abarca sabores, aromas, texturas y la historia detrás de cada botella.
