Looking for a place to cool down, relax by the water, and sip some sparkling wine? Valensin Vineyards is your spot. Located in Galt, only 30 mins from Sacramento Downtown, this vineyard is the perfect place to enjoy the summer by the lake and sip wine.
The 11 acres vineyard was stablished in 2002, but open its tasting room doors in July 2020. This family-owned vineyard offers a stunning view, a self-guided walking tour around the vineyard, pedal boats, water ski lessons, a food truck, and the wine tasting experience with two different flights.
Their label is called “The Plunge”, because as the owners say, life is full of risks and opportunities, and sometimes you have to plunge into them. After moving cross country, working in the wine industry and gaining some experience, this family decided to take “The Plunge” and open its own winery last year.
Under this label you will find Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé of Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Barbera, Zinfandel, among others. But also, under this label, you will find four sparkling wines, which are the center of attention in this post. Here is my top 3:
2019 The Plunge Brut Sparkling: a blend of Chardonnay and Verdelho, with notes of green apple, grapefruit, and citrus flavors. This brut is crisp and refreshing.
2019 The Plunge Rosé Sparkling: who doesn’t love a nice rosé, and especially if it has bubbles. This wine is a little bit sweeter and has hints of cherry and raspberry, and a predominant strawberry flavor.
N.V. The Plunge Pomegranate Sparkling: the sweetest out of the tree, but still refreshing and perfect for summer, this wine provides a berry finish with a predominant flavor of pomegranate. After the tasting, I enjoyed a bottle of this one with my friends by the lake, we had so much fun!

¿Estás buscando un lugar para refrescarte, relajarte junto al agua y beber un poco de vino espumoso? Valensin Vineyards es tu lugar. Ubicado en Galt, a solo 30 minutos del centro de Sacramento, este viñedo es el lugar perfecto para disfrutar del verano bebiendo vino a la orilla del lago.
El viñedo de 11 acres se estableció en el 2002, pero abrió las puertas de su sala de degustación en Julio del 2020. Este viñedo ofrece una vista impresionante, un tour autoguiado por el viñedo, botes de pedales, lecciones de esquí acuático, un camión de comida, y la experiencia de cata de vinos con dos selecciones diferentes.
Su etiqueta se llama “The Plunge”, que en español significa la zambullida. Este nombre fue escogido porque como dicen los propietarios, la vida está llena de riesgos y oportunidades, y a veces hay que zambullirse en ellos. Después de mudarse al otro lado del país, trabajar en la industria del vino y ganar algo de experiencia, esta familia decidió tomar zambullirse y abrir su propia bodega el año pasado.
Bajo esta etiqueta encontrarás Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé de Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Barbera, Zinfandel, entre otros. Pero, además, bajo esta etiqueta, encontrarás cuatro vinos espumosos, que son el centro de atención en este post. Aquí está mi top 3:
2019 The Plunge Brut Sparkling: una mezcla de Chardonnay y Verdelho, con notas de manzana verde, pomelo y sabores cítricos. Es muy refrescante.
2019 The Plunge Rosé Sparkling: a quién no le gusta un buen vino rosado, y sobre todo si tiene burbujas. Este vino es un poco más dulce, tiene notas de cereza y frambuesa, y predomina el sabor a fresa.
N.V. The Plunge Pomegranate Sparkling: el más dulce de los tres, pero aún refrescante y perfecto para el verano, este vino proporciona un final de bayas con un predominante sabor a granada. Después de la degustación, disfruté de una botella de este vino con mis amigas junto al lago, ¡nos divertimos mucho!
